The cost for LandSea is on a sliding scale, informed by information submitted on a student’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The pricing below is based on the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) number that is provided on the Student Aid Report. The Federal Student Aid website has information on where to locate the EFC amount on the Student Aid Report.
Cost is based on Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
- EFC of $35,001 and above, or no FAFSA: Cost is $2,295
- EFC of $25,001 to $35,000: Cost is $2,095
- EFC of $13,001 to $25,000: Cost is $1,895
- EFC of $6,001 to $13,000: Cost is $1,595
- EFC of $0 to $6,000: Cost is $1,495
Through the generous support of our alumni, need-based scholarships are available to a limited number of students every year. Scholarship requests will be evaluated after the deadline and offers will be made in early June. The amount of the award varies based on financial background and the needs of students, but recent awards have ranged anywhere from $200 to 50% of the cost of the program.
When filing a scholarship request, please indicate the additional amount of funding beyond your EFC-determined program cost.
In order to be eligible for scholarship consideration, students must complete and submit the following before May 15. Please note that registering and depositing by the May 15 deadline does not guarantee a scholarship.

Payment plans are available to those who apply for scholarships (regardless of whether you receive one). Setting up a payment plan allows for the trip fee to be paid over 6 monthly payments (July – December). If you apply for a scholarship, you will receive information about setting up a payment plan in your May billing for LandSea. Payment plans must be set-up by July 1 in order to make the first payment due July 15.
June 1 – Optional first payment (for those who wish to break up the cost over two payments)
July 1 – Final Payment and All Paperwork DUE
Payments can be made by check or online.
Online payments for LandSea can be made like regular tuition payments through the Hornet HQ by e-check or credit card (additional charges apply to credit card payments)
Students can allow parents/guardians to view the Hornet HQ and make payments by setting them up as a proxy

Due to the fixed costs associated with the LandSea Program, if for any reason (including, but not limited to: sickness, injury, or personal/family emergencies) you cannot participate in LandSea after completing your deposit, our cancellation policy is as follows:
All deposits are non-refundable.
If you notify us between July 16-31, you are responsible for 50% of the cost of the trip.
If you notify us by August 1st or after, you are responsible for the entire cost of the trip.
LandSea prohibits the use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco products while on the program. Students found using these substances during LandSea will be immediately removed from the program and returned home at the cost of the participant (including forfeiture of fees and transportation home).
Please note that if you arrive on campus and are ill or are displaying signs of a fever you may not be able to participate in the program for your own health and safety, as well as the health and safety of other LandSea participants and staff. If you arrive on campus and are unable to participate in the program because of illness you will not be able to stay on campus and will be required to return home, providing your own transportation and travel accommodations. The general cancellation policy for the LandSea Program that is listed above will be applied to cases like these. We encourage everyone to stay healthy and safe over the weeks prior to the trip in order to ensure that you can join us for the program.
